making a viking boat model
I build a viking model ship and show you the major points and how a model like this is built including some painting and some of the string work for the rigging. fun little build and pretty easy.. Bake the boat in a 200-degree conventional oven for 15 minutes. allow the boat to cool. insert a thin stick into each hole. these will be the oars of the viking longboat. hot glue a dowel into the centre of the hollow. allow the glue to cool completely. this will be the mast of the boat.. Secure the ship ends by placing four or five stapling around each of the curved sides of the longship halves. see figure 6 in we and us' "make a viking longship" instructions. press on the inverted folds so that the bottoms of the ship halves lay flat. use tape or hot glue to meld the two halves together..
