Fasten the trailer ball receptacle onto the end of the 10-foot-long hauling arm. the trailer is complete and now ready for use. to put a wooden rowboat on the trailer, simply set it on top of the 4-foot-by-8-foot plywood and with some rope tie the boat onto the trailer.. The boat trailer won't be used that often. once the boat is in the water, it will probably be a garbage tote to our local dump or to haul other things. besides it can be painted with epoxy or paint. if that were true, wooden boats would not be sailing across the ocean. wood can be waterproofed for sure.. The boat needs to be in the water really so that the wood can swell and you can see what might need attention. the hull is in generally good condition, having been stripped, filled where necessary, varnished, painted etc. interior has been partially stripped, but the remainder of the old varnish needs to come off (it currently peels away) and be painted/varnished as preferred..
